Escape Academy 2 Co-op Guide: Online and Split-Screen

Last checked 11/7/2026 2 min read

Two-player online and split-screen co-op in Escape Academy 2, per Steam, the demo, Xbox capabilities, and Coin Crew’s PlayStation Blog post.

Escape Academy Wiki

What co-op modes exist?

The Steam store page lists Single-player, Online Co-op, and Shared/Split Screen Co-op for Escape Academy 2: Back 2 School.

The demo page says you can play the sampled chapter singleplayer or with a friend using splitscreen couch co-op or online co-op.

Player count on console listings

Source Stated co-op scope
Microsoft Store Online co-op (2–2) and Xbox local co-op (2–2)
PlayStation Blog (Coin Crew) Couch or online co-op across the full campus, story and all of its puzzles

Steam feature tags do not print a number, but the store prose refers to grabbing a friend and both co-op formats.

Steam-only feature note

The Back 2 School Steam page also lists Remote Play Together among its features. Valve documents that label on Steam; it is separate from the in-game Online Co-op tag.

We do not speculate here about cross-store matchmaking, guest passes, or save-sharing rules. Read the live store page for the platform you play on.

Xbox Wire suggests calling out clues aloud when you play together. Optional No-Timer Mode is summarized on the no-timer guide. Side quests and achievements link from the Extra Credit checklist and trophy guide. Puzzle answers are on the walkthroughs index.
